Senator Lankford honors Purple Heart recipients

Historic legislation to honor America’s Purple Heart recipients, the National Purple Heart Commemorative Coin Act (S.2815), is quickly gaining momentum in the U.S. Senate with the addition of Oklahoma Senator James Lankford to its growing list of bi-partisan co-sponsors.

Here are the rosters for 2020 All-State

Three area girls have been named to the 2020 Oklahoma Soccer Coaches Association’s all state rosters in their respective districts. Named to the 4A all state roster from Cushing are, forward Avery Bonine and goalkeeper Jasmine Grant.

Visitation returns to ODOC facilities

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections is set to resume inmate visitation next weekend. Visitation will be highly structured to accommodate social distancing. Visiting sessions will be two hours long and offered multiple days a week. More information will soon be available on visitation schedules.

Charges unlikely in Broken J shooting

The woman who admitted to police she fatally shot her ex-boyfriend last week, was released from custody within 24 hours, and Payne County officials now say they may not have enough evidence to charge her with any wrong doing.

Sheriff's Dept., OSBI, investigating shooting death at former Broken J Bar

A woman is in custody at the Payne County Jail after she admitted to police that she fatally shot her ex-boyfriend, Wednesday morning. According to Payne County Sheriff Kevin Woodward, the woman called 911 at around 8:20 a.m. Wednesday and told police that she had shot her ex boyfriend in the head.
