House Prioritizes Broadband Expansion

Over the past two years, the Legislature has been working hard to expand broadband within the state. Right now, 30% of Oklahoma households have no internet, and the state is ranked 43rd nationally for rural access to broadband.

Shedding Light

To ‘shed light’ on a matter, generally means to give additional information allowing for a better understanding. Allow me to shed light on what that phrasing calls to my mind.

Dear Editor, Referencing Congressman Mullins’ column in the January 12 Citizen, it could just as well been titled “New Year, Same Republicans” as he spouted the same tired Republican Party line. Everything’s Biden’s fault, green new deal, socialist agenda, blah, blah, blah.

Good intentions

I had a sort of an epiphany this week. As I pulled the 2021 calendar off my wall and tacked up 2022, it seemed like I was switching 2020 out with 2021 just a couple weeks ago. Where do these years go so fast? They didn’t zip by like this when I was a kid. Sometimes they took forever.
