Lady Tigers fall to Kiefer

Looking for momentum going into weekend tourney KIEFER - The Cushing Lady Tigers, who are yet to win a game this season, hit a buzz saw Friday when they went up against the 12th-ranked team in Class 3A, The Kiefer Lady Trojans.

Drumright teams struggling

Oilton’s McCool gets 1,000th point The Drumright Tornado teams have struggled lately. The varsity girls lost to Shidler, 75-39 and Depew 51-26.The ladies are very young and haven’t played together that long. Evie Ools has played well inside and Kaiton Vann is an athletic presence.

Lady Tiger defense showing imoroivement

CUSHING - The Cushing Lady Tigers have yet to get into the “W” column this season and fell to the Mannford Lady Pirates, at home, 23-41 in their last game of the year, but head coach Mason Baade said his team is showing tons of improvement defensively.

Mannford ends Tiger win streak

CUSHING - The Mannford Pirates sailed into Cushing and ended the Tigers’ four-game win streak with a gritty, 31-36 win. The low-scoring game was a study in defensive tactics from a pair of well respected coaches in class 4A.

Lady Tigers play in Dale Tournament

CUSHING - A lack of steady shooting consistency has plagued 0-7 Cushing Lady Tigers for their first six games of the season. Their shots would simply not go in.

Young Lady Tornadoes have 2-3 record

Our new girls basketball coach is Lauren Campo. Her assistant is Alyssa Fuxa. They both coached at Watonga for six years before coming to Drumright.Both were outstanding athletes — Campo at Shidler and Fuxa at Garber.

Tigers 2-0 after dominating wins

BLACKWELL — The Cushing Tiger basketball team is 2-0 after a dominating win over the Aspire homeschool team out of Tulsa last Tuesday, 60-39, then taking out the Blackwell Maroons 57-43 on Friday.

Ripley Warrior Brooklyn Howell has signed with the Henderson State Reddies, in Arkansas, on a basketball scholarship where she will also be working on a nursing degree.
