CUSHING — There are nights when the basketball does what it’s told — when it leaves a shooter’s hands and understands the assignment. Then there are nights when the the opponent is ranked, the ball misbehaves in every way possible, and the margin widens before you can gain control.

After an undefeated 9-0 regular season, the Cushing sixth-grade Lady Tiger basketball team placed third in the tri-county gold bracket tournament Saturday. The girls have been playing together since they were in first grade and have seen success year-to-year.

Lady Tigers run into ranked Berryhill buzzsaw

Keep battling through tough week CUSHING — There are weeks when the schedule shows zero empathy.Instead, it shows up ranked No. 11 in Class 4A, with a 19-6 overall record, and shooting percentages in the 40s.That was Berryhill when they came to Cushing last Friday night.
