Coming off their 49-22 defeat of the John Marshall Bears last Thursday, the Cushing Tiger football team face a pivotal district matchup Friday, against the Blanchard Lions. Like the Tigers, Blanchard is 6-1 on the season, but are 4-0 in district play.

Lady Tigers finish regionals in seventh inning thriller

In what was anticipated to be a rebuilding year, the Cushing Lady Tiger fastpitch softball team found themselves deep in the post season and on the brink of a berth in the state tournament. “We were one run from state,” said Lady Tiger Head Coach Nikki York. “We got beat in the seventh.”

The Cushing Tiger football team manhandled Tecumseh Friday, in front of a near-capacity homecoming crowd, outscoring the Savages 49-6 and taking their record to 5-1. “It’s good to get the win,” said Tiger head coach Rusty Morgan.

Catcher Madison Alexander hit a double in the first inning and drove in a run to give Cushing the spark to beat Bixby. Morgan Franklin singled to right field, and eventually scored the winning run to beat Bixby and advance to regionals.

Tigers take down Comets, advance to 4-1

The Cushing Tigers advanced their record to 4-1 last Thursday with a 53-16 blowout win over the Classen SAS Comets.
