Bell Cow: June 30. Elevation is 3 ft. below normal and stable, water temperature 82°F and stained. Largemouth bass good on buzz baits, grasshoppers, plastic baits, small lures, and spinnerbaits around shallows, shorelines, and weed beds. Crappie fair on jigs around brush structure and docks.

Two drown at Keystone Lake

KEYSTONE LAKE - Two members of a Tulsa family drowned in the waters just off Appalachia Bay Recreation Area at Keystone Lake over the Independence Day holiday. According to Trooper Matthew Hughart of the Marine Enforcement Division of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, at around 12:15 p.m.

Tech students win at SkillsUSA nationals

ATLANTA, Ga. — Career and technical students across Oklahoma were recognized at the 2024 SkillsUSA Championships, held in Atlanta, on June 26-27. More than 6,000 students competed at the national showcase of career and technical education.

Grants available for libraries

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma Department of Libraries released grant opportunity information in the July newsletter including an Immigration and Citizenship (IAC) Grant and a Health Literacy Grant. The IAC grant application opened on June 28 and all remain open until July 26.

CFD puts in months of work for spectators to have a blast CUSHING — The Cushing Fire Department put on the annual Independence Day firework display in Memorial Park on July 4, the work for which began months ago, according to CFD Captain Mark Beitz.

Kansas woman injured in motorcycle wreck

RIPLEY — On Friday, July 28, a motorcycle ran out of fuel and crashed about five miles north of Ripley on Ripley Road (OK-108) according to a report by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Ryan Cooper.

RIPLEY— For over a week, the residents of Ripley had to conserve water due to complications surrounding one of the town’s two water wells. On June 28, Ripley Public Works Authority released a statement notifying residents of the complication.
