Cushing PEO presents local scholarship

The Cushing Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) presented the Program for Continuing Education Scholarship to Cushing resident Jamie Haney during the February meeting hosted by Lou Griffin.Since its inception in 1869, PEO has provided millions of scholarships and loans to women nationwide.

YALE — Experience history come to life this weekend at Jim Thorpe Park in a three day reenactment of the Battle of Round Mountain.The Battle The Battle of Round Mountain is listed in the 'Official Records of the Civil War' as the first battle fought in the Indian Territory.

Stand off in Oilton

OILTON — A police standoff in Oilton last Thursday resulted in the arrest off three Oilton residents. According to Oilton Police Chief Carl Stout, there was more than one individual arrested.“We’ve got it taken care of — three suspects in custody,” Stout told the Gusher Thursday afternoon.

Threats against Yale Police Chief leads to arrest warrant

YALE — A warrant of arrest was issued on March 1 for Stillwater resident Colton James Price after being charged with one count of threatening violence against Yale Police Chief Phillip Kelly.“He made some death threats towards me on social media,” said Kelly.

Deadline to change party affiliation approaches

STILLWATER - Oklahomans who want to change their party affiliation must submit their change no later than March 31. Voters may change their party affiliation online using the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/ elections/ovp or by completing a new Voter Registration Application.
