CUSHING - Macy Willing didn’t always play for the Tigers. She grew up playing for Drumright, but as she entered high school there was a problem, Drumright wasn’t going to have a softball program her freshman year.

Oilton man killed in storm on Sunday

OILTON - On Sunday, June 18, Oilton Fire Department responded to a call on the 100 block of east sixth at about midnight, according to Oilton Police Chief Michael Kissler. When crews arrived they found three trees had fallen — one on a mobile home with a man, his pregnant wife and kids still inside.

CUSHING - A special meeting for the City of Cushing governing entities was held last Monday night which saw the approval of three purchase orders. According to a city staff member, the meeting went quickly. The three purchase orders listed on the agenda were issued to John Vance Motors, Inc.

Whisenhunt appointed as interim SAPULPA - The Creek County Board of Commissioners Monday learned of the death of Treasurer Don Engle, and appointed First Deputy Teresa Whisenhunt as his temporary replacement. Engle, 70, died Sunday, said District 2 Commissioner Leon Warner.
