Payne County Pasture and Livestock Tour

STILLWATER - The Payne County Extension Office hosts its annual Payne County Pasture and Livestock Tour on June 9. The tour will begin at 8 a.m. and make stops at the Wall Dairy, Cimarron Valley Research Station and the Brian & Whitney Harrison Farm.

County discusses paving Brush Creek Road

STILLWATER - The Payne County Board of Commissioners last week approved the purchase of additional tasers and body cameras for the Payne County Jail. District 1 Commissioner Zach Cavett said the commissioners approved the purchase of 17 tasers and 17 body cameras.

CUSHING – When the text message popped up at the top of Mercedes Cargill’s phone screen, all she saw was a small photo of what looked to be a ribbon. The message was from Randy Roberts, her rawhide braiding mentor.

Chuck Ellsworth of Cushing carded his first career hole in one at The Battlefield at Shangri-La Golf Club & Resort in Afton Oklahoma Friday, June 2, 2023. Chuck aced the thirteenth hole from 95 yards using his pitching wedge. The feat was witnessed by Greg Brasel.

Multiple injuries in motorcycle wreck west of Yale

YALE - According to a report by Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) Trooper James Stacy a multi-motorcycle wreck occurred on June 1, on SH-18 three miles west of Yale. The report states that four motorcycles were involved in the collision. A 2014 Kawasaki Concourse driven by Jonathan Barby, 27 of Norman.
