CUSHING - A special meeting for the City of Cushing governing entities was held last Monday night which saw the approval of three purchase orders. According to a city staff member, the meeting went quickly. The three purchase orders listed on the agenda were issued to John Vance Motors, Inc.

CUSHING - Throughout Katy Jones’ recruitment, she was set on not making a decision until everything felt right. “I kept telling myself, ‘You’ll know when you know,’” she said. Jones, a Cushing High School softball pitcher who graduated in May, took plenty of college visits.

Creek Treasurer Engle passes

Whisenhunt appointed as interim SAPULPA - The Creek County Board of Commissioners Monday learned of the death of Treasurer Don Engle, and appointed First Deputy Teresa Whisenhunt as his temporary replacement. Engle, 70, died Sunday, said District 2 Commissioner Leon Warner.
