The next election date is Feb. 14 and is the primary elections for the Board of Education and special elections. The deadline to request absentee ballots at local election boards will be next Monday, Jan. 30 no later than 5 p.m. Early voting dates for the BOE primaries will be Feb.

Cushing Public Schools hires new computer science teacher

Members of the Cushing Public Schools Board of Education accepted the resignation of High School Business Education/Computer Science Teacher Lindsey Knight and hired Riley Danker to fill that position. The board also accepted the resignation of bus driver Tammy Allen.

Cushing Police Department arrests

The following arrests were made between January 3, 2023 and January 10, 2023. All individuals are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. James Henry Walker-37 Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Meth).

Chamber honors Glynn and Sandy McCauley

An emotional Glynn McCauley expressed a heartfelt thank you to members of the Cushing Chamber of Commerce after he, and his wife Sandy, were honored with the chamber’s 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award at the chamber’s annual banquet held Thursday, Jan. 19, at Godofredo’s Pizzeria and Taproom.

In last weeks edition of the Cushing Citizen, two members of the 2023 Wrestling Homecoming Royalty were misnamed, it should have read as Kinzie Smith walking with Kyle Sams, and Jade Morgan as the Homecoming Queen.
