On Dec. 24, at 6 p. m. the Drumright First United Methodist Church at 115 North Pennsylvania Avenue will once again host its annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service.

The rotary club of Drumright made a cash donation to the City of Drumright to be used to purchase benches for Centennial Park during the regular commission meeting on Dec. 13. Among the mostly routine agenda items, a donation in an estimated amount of $1,100 from the rotary club was listed.

Thursday’s sustained winds of 30 miles per hour in Drumright probably weren’t enough to bring down the building located at 114 E Broadway. However, the 50 mile per hour gusts, coupled with a wind tunnel eff ect of the vacant lot just west of the building were plenty strong enough.

Highway 33 crash kills Kellyville woman

According to a report by Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper Jared Sharp, a fatality collision occurred on Dec. 14, around 9:30 p.m. on eastbound highway 33 near the intersection of 33 and south 193rd West Ave.

I don’t think you can beat hometown celebrations for the Christmas season. Here in Senate District 21, I was so happy to participate in some of those holiday traditions, including Christmas parades in Stillwater, Mannford and in Oilton.

Reflections on a 62-year marriage

It’s the Christmas season, a time of hope and love. I’ve been refl ecting on this as the 62nd anniversary of my wedding to my wife, Kay, approaches. When people introduce me at a public event, they often mention how long I’ve been married, and the listeners always applaud.
