Cushing Public Library has Special Guest

On Monday, June 21, the Cushing Public Library had a special visit from Franklin the Turtle and Scooby-Doo, both favorites in children’s books and cartoons. The two spent several hours meeting new friends, taking pictures, and exploring the library.

Creek County Commission Approves Rezoning Request

The Creek County commission held their regular meeting on June 21 to discuss and take action on a number of agenda items, including a rezoning request to allow for a medical marijuana dispensary. The rezoning request located at 36585 West Hwy 51 in Mannford, was submitted by Holdcity, LLC.

Cushing Lady Tigers visit Ada

The Cushing Lady Tigers visited Ada for the 2021 Ada Summer Shootout and were bombarded by Ada Lady Cougars in the scrimmage consisting of two 15-minute halves. Ada hit seven threepointers in the 51-19 game, including two from Ada freshman Sania Richardson.

Cushing Resident Receives Recognition for 50 Years of Service

Bob Lynch was recognized for 50 years of service by Representative John Talley at the Cushing Chamber of Commerce wrap-up luncheon on May 28. Lynch has been involved in emergency management in Cushing for over 50 years now. “I actually hit the 50 mark in June a year ago.” Lynch said.

Oklahoma State Department of Health as of June 28 reports 455,986 total cases, an increase of 1,102.The active case count has increased by 214 since last reported. Active cases are now reported at 1,505. There have been 447,097 recoveries and 7,384 deaths attributed to the virus since testing began.

Crossroads Wellness Center opened at 115 Harrison Ave on Monday June 28th with a ceremonial ribbon cutting courtesy of the Cushing Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Randy Grellner had the honors of cutting the ribbon. Clinic staff , Rotary members, and Chamber of Commerce staff were in attendance.
