Rainy Day Recycling

Cushing Pride hosted the first Replenysh recycling event on Sunday, May 23 in the parking lot of the Cushing High School ag barn. From 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Cushing Pride volunteers stood under a canopy while raindrops sprinkled from above waiting for participants to come through.

Lachenmeyer offering classes

The Lachenmeyer Arts Center is providing classes for kids and adults during the summer. Preschool ages will have a three-week class starting June 11 or July 9, 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., free of charge. Kindergarten through fifth grades have fourweek classes with a $5 fee.

Local man pleads guilty of embezzlement

Mark Paul Lauderdale of Yale pled guilty to two counts of embezzlement in excess of $25,000 on Friday, May 28, in the district court of Payne County. Initially, on Sept. 27, 2018 Lauderdale entered a plea of not guilty. An agreed order for restitution was filed in 2020 on Sept.10.
