Creek County buys air scrubbers for courthouse

The Creek County Commissioners approved the purchase of 50 air scrubbers for the Creek County courthouse complex buildings, county jail, juvenile justice center and the Creek County Election Board. The Commissioners selected Hudson Plumbing to provide the scrubbers at a cost of $36,250.

Surplus sales tax tapped for jail repairs

The Payne County Facilities Authority last week approved using excess sales tax revenue for upgrades and repairs to the county jail. District 2 Commissioner Chris Reding said more than $235,000 in sales tax revenue was approved to pay for the upgrades.

According to the Oklahoma State Department of Health as of Monday, Nov. 23, there are 8,051,417 active cases of COVID-19 in the United States. Since testing began, there have been 13,383,320 total cases, 5,065,030 of those have recovered and 266,873 deaths have been attributed to the virus.
