Chris Leland Wells passed from this world on October 30th 2020 at the age of 65. He was born September 28, 1955, the youngest child of Charles Floyd (Buck) and Marie Wells. Chris grew up in Cushing, Oklahoma, attending Harding Grade School and graduating from Cushing HS in 1973. In high school Chris worked in the audio/visual department and was active in the competitive speech and drama program. Because of his quick, and often sarcastic wit, speech teacher, Gary West, labeled Chris, “King of the One Liners”.
Chris loved music and was a self-taught musician and singer. He played guitar, bass and keyboard, as well as being adept at repairing all types of instruments and tube amplifi ers. After high school Chris pursued his dream of a career in the music industry, living on both coasts and spending almost 20 years in San Francisco.
Twenty-nine years after falling in love with his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Brown, they reconnected and married November 13th 1999.
His passions in life were his music, musical instruments, taking care of his animals on the farm and enjoying spending time with the grandchildren. Chris was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ricky Wells. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Wells; daughter, Jessica Wells; step-daughter, Amber Page and her fi nance, Joe Gillikin; step-son, Alex Page, and his wife, Saige; sister, Renee Criner and her husband, Mike and brother, Gary Starnes. Also, survived by his beloved stepgrandchildren (Rylan, Gracie, Sophia, Xander & Scarlett) and many nephews.
Graveside Services for the family will be held at Flynn Cemetery on Thursday, November 5th with arrangements entrusted to Palmer Funeral Home of Cushing.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
