January 29, 1935 - November 23, 2020
Tommy E. Taylor, a longtime Cushing resident, passed from this life on Monday, November 23, 2020 at the age of 85, at the Linwood Village Nursing Home.
The son of the late Harry E. Taylor and Leona Munson Taylor, Tommy was born on January 29, 1935 in Prague, Oklahoma. Tommy was united in Marriage to Adeline Ewen and to this union three children were born; Jeannette, Leannette, and Delbert. Tommy was united in marriage to Berniece C. Pieper on June 25, 1984. She preceded him in death on Oct. 5, 2018.
Tommy was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, Cushing, Oklahoma. He was an avid hunter and fi sherman until health issues prevented him from participating in the sports. He enjoyed playing cards and dominoes. He worked at numerous jobs with Montgomery Wards, Hughes Lumber, Kerr McGee and Oklahoma State University where he retired from the physical plant.
Survivors include his children; Jeannette Pierce and husband Gary of Cushing, Oklahoma; Leannette Raff ety of Stroud, Oklahoma, and Delbert Taylor of Lubbock, Texas. Two stepsons; Bruce Pieper and wife Marti of Kingwood, Texas; Doug Pieper and wife Colleen of Cushing, Oklahoma; Grandchildren include: Jason Pierce and wife Kym of Cushing, Oklahoma; Tyler Pierce of Stroud, Oklahoma; Michelle Wilhelm and husband Jim of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Tami Jackson and husband Brad of Stroud, Oklahoma, and stepgranddaughters McKenzie Pieper and Katina Smith; step-grandson Donald Bilby, Jr.; Great grandchildren: Brennon Pierce, Brooklyn Pierce, Karrlee Pierce, Tommy Jackson, Jaelynn Wilhelm, Sierra Wilhelm, Shontana Wilhelm; One sister, Pansy Lorett and husband
Jack; Many nieces and nephews; Many other relatives and friends.
In addition of his parents and his wife, Tommy was preceded in death by two sisters: LaWanda Wolff and husband Marvin, and Mary Seabolt; one brother, Marvin Taylor; and son-in-law, Mike Raff ety.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 11 A.M. at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Cushing, Oklahoma with Reverend W. R. Rains and Reverend Raff erty offi ciating. Burial will follow at the Euchee Valley Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers will be Jason Pierce, Tyler Pierce, Brennon Pierce, Jim Wilhelm, Brad Jackson and Freddy Gaither.
