Tommy Ray Wilson, Sr., retired Cushing fireman, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020 in Stillwater, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years.

He was born on January 7, 1936 in Yale, Oklahoma and grew up in Payne County, making his home in Cushing. He attended Cushing schools and completed his schooling in the Military. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving as a paratrooper.

He was united in marriage to Arlene D. Flint in 1959 and to this union two children, Tommy Jr., and Russell were born. He was married to Katherine M. McDowell in 1975, gaining two children, James and Sonja.

Tom had worked for the Cushing Fire Department for over 21 years, the last 5 as assistant chief. He completed his fi re schooling at O.S.U. receiving his Fire Tech certifi cate. He completed his medical training at O.T.R.S. and was an instructor in the fi eld of Fire Tech and Emergency Medical Technician. Following his retirement he worked several years at Fairlawn Cemetery where he took great pride in how the cemetery looked.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Katherine Wilson of the home; his children, Russell Wilson, Sonja Michelle Hodson and James Mc-Dowell; two brothers, Don King and his wife Marian and Robert Wilson; 8 grandchildren, Jeremy, Brian, Maney, Zakk, Hannah, Stephanie, Jessie and Caden; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ellen Kizer Wilson; three sisters, Marie, Diane, and Treva, and one brother Jimmy Wilson.

Graveside services will be held Monday, October 26, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fairlawn Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Clouse officiating.
