A world of slang

I was told not too long ago that I use a lot of slang when I talk. This is something that I’ve never really noticed about myself, but it got me thinking — isn’t all modern language dependent on slang?

We had a long and busy, but productive, week at the Capitol. Monday started with a sunrise vigil in remembrance of people lost to COVID-19. The event was organized by Sen. Paul Rosino to commemorate what would have been the 36th birthday of his son Gregory, who died from COVID in July 2021.

Protecting our sunshine at the federal level

  “Save our sunshine!” This is the battle cry heard ‘round the nation as Florida Senator Marco Rubio reintroduces legislation killed off last year by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. The Sunshine Protection Act of 2023 is a regurgitation of 2021 legislation bearing the same name.

I, like many others, watch the Super Bowl for one reason, and one reason only… The commercials. I didn’t even know who was playing until kickoff this year. After last year’s commercials, I was skeptical that this year would even be worth watching, however I was definitely proven wrong.
