Tigers quench 14-year Area Playo drought with win over Mannford

CUSHING - Cushing Tiger head basketball coach Jake Christenson had a gut feeling after losing in the district title game to the Mannford Pirates 62-43, that they would meet again, with the Pirates standing in the way of the Tigers’ bid for a slot in the Area bracket.

Lady Tigers to host Woodward here, Thursday, in opening round of regionals

MANNFORD - The Cushing Lady Tigers wrapped up their regular season at Berryhill last Tuesday and lost 26-40, but Head Coach Mason Baade said he was not unhappy with the output of the Cushing effort. “Berryhill was one of our best defensive performances as a team,” said Baade.

Tigers fall to Mannford, will face Woodward here, on Thursday

MANNFORD - The Cushing Tigers travelled to Mannford to face the Pirate in the district title game, but fell short 43-62. The Tigers found difficulty getting the ball through the hoop Saturday, while it seemed nothing could go wrong for the Pirates.

ENID - On Friday, Feb. 9, the Cushing Tiger wrestling team traveled to Enid to compete in the OSSAA Dual State Tournament at the Stride Bank Event Center.

Lady Tigers will face Mannford in opening round on Saturday

CUSHING - For the Cushing Lady Tiger basketball team, the regular season is over. They played their final game against Berryhill this Tuesday. They will enter district play Saturday when they travel Mannford to face the No. 18 Lady Pirates.

CUSHING - The Cushing Tigers basketball team, playing at full strength, picked apart the Mannford Pirates Friday, 41-31. Tigers Max Wood and Canaan Guerrero combined to score 27 points.

Lady Tigers overcome by Demons, Pirates

CUSHING - Last Friday, the Cushing Tiger girls basketball team found out why the Mannford Lady Pirates are ranked 18th in OSSAA Class 4A basketball. The Lady Pirates sailed in to Cushing riding the momentum of a 10-game winning streak and didn’t pull any punches.
