Tiger powerlifters win Hiulldale meet

The Cushing High School Tigers powerlifting team traveled to the OFBCA Powerlifting meet at Hilldale last week and came away with the large school division title, defeating teams from schools in classes 4A through 6A. “We took 18 lifters,” said powerlifting coach Jay Moore.

Tigers lose two and drop to 4-8 on season

The Cushing Tigers had a tough week of basketball with a 42-59 loss to the #14 Mannford Pirates on Tuesday, followed by a 40-62 loss to the 17th-ranked Perkins-Tryon Demons on Friday. “We knew we had a tough week coming up, playing two top-20 teams,” said Tiger Head Coach Jonteau Austin-Ezell.

Cushing Tiger wrestler Kaiser Simpson is undefeated this season at 19-0, and his first round win over Sperry’s Lane Wheeler at the Cushing Tiger Invitational this weekend pushed the Tigers into second place.

USJOC Placers

A group of youth wrestlers attended USJOC this weekend. A huge tournament with more than 2100 wrestlers from multiple states. These are the placers: Jagger Simpson-1st place, Wes Nickell-3rd place, Eli Cruz-4th place, Colt Powell-6th place, Jaden O’Kelley-6th place.

Tigers at 4-6 after Stroud tourney

The 4-6 Cushing Tiger basketball team traveled to Stroud Thursday to play in the three-day Stroud Route 66 Coliseum Classic basketball tournament.
