Tigers nine starts season 2-1

The Cushing Tiger baseball team opened their season at home, in style, with a 10-0 win over the Tecumseh Savages.

Tri County Champs!

The 5th & 6th grade Cushing lady Tigers won the championship in the silver bracket Tri-County League last weekend. The end-of-season event was held in Maud last weekend and the lady Tigers remained undefeated throughout the tournament.

8-U Wrestling State Champ

John Bajema, wrestling for Deer Creek in Edmond, won the 2022 OKUSA 8 and under wrestling title at the Tulsa Expo Center earlier this month. Bajema won one of his state matches with a sudden overtime victory and he took the title match with a 7-1 decision.

Tigers host Wagoner for mid to advance

The Cushing Tigers basketball team traveled to Oklahoma City last week to face the defending state champions, Crossings Christian and ran into a buzz saw, losing 36-81, and settling for district runners up.

Cushing wrestlers second in east regional

The road to the OSSAA State Wrestling Tournament stopped in Cushing for the OSSAA 4A East Regional, held at the Cushing Tiger Field House. The Tigers, as a team, placed second, just 17 points behind Wagoner and threee points ahead of the third place finisher Catoosa.

Johnny Leverich pinned his Blackwell opponent lasat week, the son of the wrestler Johnny’s father, also a Tiger, defeated nearly 20 years ago.

Tigers come from behind to defeat Cleveland, Berryhill

The Cushing Tigers threw enough bricks in the first quarter of Friday’s Berryhill game to build a new fieldhouse, but slow starts like this are something the varsity boys basketball team has dealt with all season.
