Tiger fans turned out by the thousands for the OSSAA Class 4A State Championship game at Chad Richison Stadium on the campus of UCO in Edmond Saturday. The Cushing Tigers claimed the silver ball after a 24-21 loss to the Wagoner Bulldogs, ending their season with a record of 13-1.

Local businessman running for commission seat

Local businessman Geoff Beasley filed Monday with the Payne County Elections Board, declaring his candidacy in the race for seat 5 on the Cushing City Commission. That seat is currently help by Ricky Lofton, who also filed a declaration of candidacy. As of 10 a.m.

Commissioners approve donation

The Payne County Board of Commissioners Monday approved a donation from Wade Bair for 27,088.4 cubic yards of dirt for District 3 road improvements. The dirt is valued at $255,985.38.

City of Cushing Board of Commissioners met Monday, Nov. 21 to discuss and approve resolutions and proclaim November National Runaway Prevention Month. Chairman Mike Griffith gave the proclamation after the pledge of allegiance was said.
