Payne County burn ban remains in place

The Payne County Board of Commissioners Monday approved holding a special meeting Wednesday to enact a new countywide burn ban resolution that would have certain exemptions including for fire protection training.

Cushing in the running for new refinery site

Cushihg has made the short list for a new refinery. Cushing, with a population of 8,200, is known as the “pipeline crossroads of the world,” with more than 430 oil storage tanks spread out along the edge of town.
