Editor Dear Editor, When you get to be my age you remember a thing or two. Those memories are from a lifetime of watching the world go by. And there is a thing or two about this Israeli conflict that just doesn’t make a darn bit of sense.

This week, as promised (or threatened) I will be returning to the topic of hoodie weather. Last week, I mentioned hosting my interim study examining the use of corporal punishment on students with disabilities, and I want to review some of my main takeaways and thoughts moving forward. As you may recall, I filed a bill last year to ban the use of corporal punishment on public school students who were identified under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

This past Friday, at around 8 p.m., I was walking the sidelines of a high school football game (as is my want on any given Friday in fall), and there was a tangible change in the weather. The wind shifted from a light southern breeze, to a northeastern breeze and the temperature plummeted, noticeably.

The Oklahoma Legislature returned to the State Capitol on Oct. 3 for a special session called by the Governor to work on bills related to budget transparency and reduced taxes.

My sister, dad, husband, and mom have all said that they hardly ever think about the Roman Empire unless they actively see something directly involving the Roman Empire.
